Multimodal Corpus Analysis
Tony Berber Sardinha
LAEL - PUCSP
"In this talk, I want to address how to conduct multimodal corpus analysis from a multi-dimensional perspective. Few multimodal corpus-based studies exist in the literature, because of the challenges involved in manually annotating audio features or visual signs. I will report on a study of the verbal and visual content of a large corpus of social media posts about climate change, which includes tweets by the major players on both sides of the debate."
The Luso-Brazilian Association of Speech Sciences will provide a 500 € travel grant to a graduate student who is the first author of an accepted paper to be presented at Speech Prosody 2022 in Lisbon.
In order to qualify for the grant, candidates need to be in good standing with LBASS 2022 annual fee.
Ranking criteria:
- The SP 2022 scientific committee will be responsible for the evaluation and ranking of papers submitted to the conference;
- In case of a scientific merit tie, preference will be given to students from low-income countries;
- If a tie persists, an LBASS/Speech Prosody 2022 joint committee will make the final decision.
Application deadline:
Applications open right after notification of paper acceptance by SP 2022 and end on January 30th, 2022.
The announcement of the grant winner will be made by February 15th, 2022. The grant will be attributed directly to the winner by SP 2022.
