4.0 PRACTICE

This section introduces the use of How much and How many.
Write on the right side of the board: COUNTABLE NOUNS __ bags.
Write on the left side of the board: UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS __ luggage

Ask students to go to the board and write the words: fare, time, dollars, and suitcases, under the appropriate heading. Explore the items they can see in the classroom to complete the two columns on the board. Elicit the use of How much and How many giving as many examples as needed. Make it clear that much is used in questions about uncountable nouns, and many in questions about countable nouns.
